we're delivering your boxes today.
20 of them too, if i might add! yes, my cargo from Brisbane has arrived and i tell you, bilik sembahyang looks like the packing room for the tsunami donation drive. my younger brother, who had no idea what the commotion was all about walked pass the bilik sembahyang and said nonchalantly, 'barang kan dhantar ke tsunami kah tu?'
i had them carry a few odd boxes to my room too. emm. just 2 boxes actually. and 1 of them is filled with dvds and vcds. my other brother, upon opening it exclaimed, 'ka, didn't you have a life back in Brisbane?'
i was a bit sadden by the sight of all the boxes. the thought of not going back to Brisbane has been on my mind lately and seeing my Brisbane life now sitting in the room waiting for me (or my mum!) to unpack made me realise that i am really not going back. there are no more excuses. previously, i said, '6 months. im going back to study'. not this time. am not going back there to study. well, not in the near future anyways.
speaking of the future, was talking to Rano earlier and he was telling me about his plans. at the moment, i dont have much plans. not in the same sense as his anyways. i would love to get a nice job though but i am just not sure how much sacrifice i have give to get that nice job. my current job allows me to come in to the office at 9, have a 2 hour lunch break and go back at 430 just in time for my filipino soap.
if my definition of a nice job is a job with the government, which many have said that it is not as challenging as working with the private sector, but ensure stability- then stability is nice.
however, if i was looking for a more challenging job, hence, working in the private sector, it involves a little instability and long hours. i was talking to a guy from a bank the other day at 6pm and it wasnt a personal call. he mentioned that it is normal for him to stay in the office till 8 or 9pm.
so there you go. a little dilemma. it doesn't stop there. you then have to think whether you want to take that job just for the sake of working or do you want to wait for the job that you will actually enjoy. i recently got offered to go into training towards a HR position. the person asked for my honest opinion. told him its not my area and neither it is my interest. shrugs. it does, however, made me wonder if what i did was right or not.
now, thats a long post. am off to shower then to bed. long day tomorrow.
